Paul Shain Art Updates May 2025 (#8)

Work on exhibit

May's exhibit at the Watercolor Art Society-Houston (WAS-H) is "Scenes Through a Window." I have three paintings in the exhibit. I, Witness is a re-worked painting inspired by Susan Giannantonio's "Dogs" class, which I mentioned in the last newsletter. The other two are urban sketches from my visit to Madrid last November.

Art news

My studio, Art Square Studios on Almeda, scheduled an open house on June 22. The address is 5301 Almeda Rd, Houston, TX 77004. There is parking on the street and in a lot behind the building.

Other new work

I've made some smaller collage pieces inspired by Susan's class mentioned above. I have four paperweights. Each is a 4" x 4" x 2" block of acrylic with a collage piece on the bottom. There is also a piece of felt on the other side of the collage.

I have four collages mounted on 3"x3"x7/8" cradled panels.
