Paul Shain Art Newsletter July 2024 (#2a)

Work on exhibit

I have three pieces at the Watercolor Art Society-Houston (link) in August's Abstraction exhibit. The exhibit runs from August 4 through August 31. The opening reception is on August 4 at 3:30 PM. at 1601 West Alabama Street, Houston, Texas, 77006. There are always great pieces to see there and many are on sale.

What classes am I taking?

I attended a bird drawing class at Watercolor Art Society-Houston by Myke Venable. I started with colored pencils and switched to watercolor. I was enamored with the Verditer Flycatcher. I also painted a bald eagle and a barn owl.

I plan to attend an urban sketching workshop with Oliver Hoeller in San Francisco in August.
